10.08.06    Let It Snow!

Summer training is done and Tim is feeling very confident going into this upcoming season. He has been working hard all summer long on his triple twisting triple which he will unveil this coming season. His coaches are ecstatic with the progress he has made this summer. Head Coach Matt Christensen said "We are very happy with all the improvements that have occurred… You need to know that the coaching staff is very excited with the direction you are going." With that said Tim hopes to break into the 10 top this winter on the World Cup and get a promotion to the "B" team. The photo is of Tim hard at work, hustling to get another jump. 06.01.06    Thanks for a great season, See you all next season!

The winter is long over and spring skiing wrapped up last weekend, as Tim looks forward to learning new tricks this summer so he will be ready to compete this winter on the World Cup Tour. Tim would like to thank everyone that helped him out this season, Mom and Dad, Tommy Hilfiger, Visa, Chevrolet, Sprint, Charles Schwab, Nature Valley, High Sierra, Elan/Dolomite, Stratton Mountain Resort, The Stratton Ski Club, Stratton Freestyle, The Berkshire Eagle, and The U.S. Ski Team coaches and staff. 03.06.06    Switzerland Is Over and Tim Is Back On His Feet!

After a bad crash at Montana Snowbowl two weeks ago Tim was back fling high in Davos Switzerland representing the USA on the World Cup Tour. He jumped well overcoming the mental restraints of his bad crash two weeks ago. He got to the top and stared the Triple kicker square in the face and went for it, this time landing on his feet with his confidence and trust in himself reestablished. He jumped well, but had a bit of trouble on the landing. Tim competed his top trick, the double twisting triple flip. He took it sky high and put it down on his feet, but with a lot of compression. It was not his best performance but Tim was coming back from injury. This week he is off, but next week Tim will return with new energy and strength, as he prepares for the World Cup Finals which are the top 20 athletes in the world and him. 02.20.06    Massucco Wins 2006 North American Grand Prix!!

Massucco is the Nor-Am Grand Prix Champion! He finished up with the Nor-Am Tour this weekend with a bad crash that kept him from competing however he still had enough points from earlier in the season to win the title. With this, he will now be able to compete in the World Cup Finals at Apex Mountain in British Columbia on March 19. Only the top athletes in the world are invited to compete in this prestigious event! This week Tim is taking time off and going to physical therapy to rehab his strained neck and prepare for the World Cup in Switzerland next week! 02.06.06    Massucco Is Starting To Be An International Player!

This past week Tim was in the Czech Republic competing at the World Cup in Spindleruv Mlyn! He jumped very well and posted another personal best score. His coaches were very pleased with his performance. He placed 17th and competed with his single and double twisting triple flips. He was on Eurosport TV which was televised live and captures the entire European market! Based on his steady performance his coaches are going to send him to the World Cup in Davos, Switzerland in the beginning of March! The next two weeks Tim will be finishing up the Nor-Am competitions to see if he gets a spot at World Cup Finals! The photo above was taken at the Effiel Tower in Paris enroute to the Czech Republic. 02.06.06    Massucco Wins At Deer Valley Nor-Am!

The past two weeks have marked major milestones in Massucco's skiing career! Last week Tim had his first Nor-Am win in Aerials, and it is possible that Tim could win the overall Nor-Am Grand Prix! If that is the case he will be invited to compete at the World Cup Finals at Apex Mountain in British Columbia. That competition consists of the top 20 people in the world and the overall Nor-Am Grand Prix Champion. If Massucco continues to jump like he has, look for him at Apex! (sorry no photo)

01.23.06    Flying With The Big Dogs On The World Cup Stage!

The FIS Freestyle World Cup has a new competitor on the field of play, as Massucco finally got to compete in Lake Placid, NY. He placed 14th after stomping a Lay-Full-Full to earn him a career best score. The conditions were very demanding and he is very happy with how he performed under the gun. This coming week Tim will be in Park City for the Utah Olympic Park/Deer Valley Nor-Am where he will be competing in Aerials on Wednesday and Moguls on Friday. On Sunday he will be heading to Europe to the Czech Republic for another Aerial World Cup! In the photo above Massucco checks out 18 foot high jump that shoots him to the moon. 01.15.06    Massucco's Coach Says "Welcome To The Big Show!"

Yesterday Massucco woke up with only a few NorAm competitions left for the season, but by lunch time he was informed that he was in the competition that afternoon at the Deer Valley World Cup, and he was starting at the Lake Placid and the Czech Republic World Cups!!! Tim took to the hill. The conditions during training were a bit rough with the wind blowing the athletes around but Tim was jumping the best he ever has! He was launching his triple back flips into the Stratosphere. As the competition got underway the wind picked up even more making it very unsafe to jump, before Massucco could take his first World Cup competition jump the U.S. Ski Team coaches grounded all the "C" team athletes. They wanted us to be smart and not beat ourselves up in the wind, many athletes were crashing and getting hauled away by ski patrol. Tim wanted to go but if the coaches didn't want him to, it was for a good reason. Tim will see more World Cup action next Saturday at the Lake Placid World Cup! 12.31.05    Going Big At Olympic Trials In Steamboat Colorado!

Olympic Trials kicked off Friday night under the lights with near perfect conditions however they did not stay that way. Right before Tim's jump there was a micro bust of intense snowfall which made his jump extremely difficult. The new snow made him slow coming into the jump, even with the big step up that he took he still did not have enough speed to completely layout his triple twisting double back flip. But given what he was dealt in the air, Massucco came down hard and barely got his feet underneath him, putting him in Seventh place after the first jump. Massucco knew the Olympics were going to be out of reach at this event so he went up and told himself to go big, have fun and let the 8,000 plus fans know that he was not scared and will return in four years to win the event. Now that this event is over Massucco is going to back to Park City and get ready for the upcoming World Cups and prepare for the four year journey that will get him to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games! 12.20.05    Massucco Chucks The First Triples Of His Life!

Tim has reach a very note worthy point in his skiing career this week. He has stepped up his jumping to the triple kicker where he hucked a Lay-Tuck Full, which is a single twisting triple back flip, the slang term coined from the movie "Hot Dog" is the "Kick Ass Blaster"! He also stepped up from that a chucked a Lay-Full-Full, witch is a double twisting triple back flip. Armed with these tricks Tim will be ready for the 2006 Olympic Trials and some World Cup action. Another first for Tim this week was his third place finish at the Park City Nor-Am, which is his first Nor-Am podium. He posted a another career best score, and things are looking good going into Olympic Trials in two weeks, which are being held in Steamboat Springs, CO. Until then Tim will be off this week celebrating the Holidays with his family. ~*Happy Holidays*~ (sorry no photo)

12.14.2005    The First One Back And Massucco Is Feeling Good!

The U.S. Ski Selections Event has come and gone and Massucco performed well. The schedule was very tight as he was competing in Moguls at Winter Park, CO and the Aerial competitions were held in Park City, UT. He did a lot of driving, 8 hours each way, each day after the day's event commenced for four days straight. He got the job done, and did it quite well, considering it was his first competition back after knee surgery last February. On the mogul venue Tim had a few kinks to work out due to the reduced training time, but is back right where he left off, pre knee injury last December. In the Aerial Competition he laid down 4 solid jumps consisting of a double twisting double back flip and a triple twisting double back flip. Each night he posted personal best scores and next week during the Park City Nor-Am he will be starting to do triple flips with twists. (sorry no photo)

11.20.2005    Preseason Training Is On At Apex!

He is at a preseason training camp to prepare for the month of December where he has the U.S. Ski Team Selection Events were he will be competing for World Cup start rights. After that he will be competing at the Park City Nor-Am, and finally the biggest competition of the year, Olympic trials. Tim has a lot of work to do, however, with an early start to the season, he will be prepared to ski full throttle in December. The photo is of Tim jumping at Apex. (Photo Credit: Emily Cook)

10.23.2005    Diving In...Feet First Of Course At UCSD!

The summer training is over and Tim is looking forward to getting back on snow. He finished up flying high at the Utah Olympic Park last Sunday. This summer he has made a lot of progress fine tuning his triple flips with multiple twists! Right now it looks like he should be on snow training the second week in November preparing for the U.S. Ski Team Selection Events where he will qualify for world cup starts. After that on December 30 he will be competing at The Olympic Trials to see if he will qualify for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy. In the mean time he is spending the transition period training at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) to physically prepare for the upcoming Olympic season! 7.20.2005    Gettin' Hangtime In Mount Hood!

Stratton Freestyle's summer training camp out in Mount Hood, OR was a success, and after 3 weeks of coaching and training Tim is back to 100 percent. While he was there he worked on perfecting a few of his jumps but mainly focused on his mogul turns, getting them back up to speed. Next week he will be in Park City, UT for U.S. Ski Team camp 3. 6.24.2005    Tim's Longest Season On Record Is Not Over!

Although next season's training has already begun, this past ski season which started on October, 25 2004 is not over yet! Tim just finished up skiing at Snowbird Ski Resort last weekend, and this week he will be coaching Stratton Freestyle Ski Camp at Timberline Ski Area which is located on the shoulder of Mount Hood, OR. He will be coaching for two weeks then training moguls for the third week while at Mount Hood. This will be the first time Tim will be skiing moguls since December, when he first injured his knee. More details on mogul skiing to follow soon! Pictured above, great spring skiing at Snowbird Ski Resort last weekend. (Photo Credit: Tyler Peterson)

5.16.2005    Soaring To New Heights On The Super Tramp!

The conditioning camp with the Navy SEALs is over and Tim was really happy with his performance. His knee is back to normal and he is now in Toronto for a trampoline camp to prepare for the summer water ramp training which begins May 30th in Park City, UT. Tim will be in Toronto for one week training at Skyriders where he will utilize the "super tramp" which is huge 20 foot trampoline where one can simulate aerial tricks almost as if they were done on snow, without the use of bungees or spotting ropes. Pictured is Tim bouncing on the super tramp, the only super tramp in the world. (Photo Credit: Josh Finley)

5.3.2005    Taking Aerials To The Extreme!

This week starts off the new season with Massucco down in San Diego, CA for a U.S. Ski Team conditioning camp with the Navy SEALS as he was cleared to begin training with the team again. So far the training has been great and he is returning to top physical condition as well as perfecting his mental skills, i.e. jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet and skydiving!
