One of the hottest freestyle skiers in the United States, Tim Massucco is currently in the prime of his competitive career. A master of many disciplines, Tim is known for both his execution of flawless aerial flips and twists as well as hammering down the mogul course. Between the gravity defying aerials, hard core mogul courses and super smooth terrain park runs, Tim Massucco knows how to put on a show. Currently, his expertise is being utilized by the US Ski Team with whom he is touring the FIS Nor Am Tour as the only combined competitor in aerials and moguls worldwide.
Born in East Otis, Massachusetts on March 15th 1983 Massucco was skiing the trails of Stratton Mountain Vermont just 11 months after his birth. His fifth season on skis was marked by his first of many first-place finishes and by six years of age he was already joining the ranks of Stratton Mountain's Freestyle Program. Continuing his record breaking, at the age of eleven he was the youngest USSA Eastern Division skier to complete a 720. Under the guidance of Stratton's program coaches and director, Soon Tim was clearly headed from one "bad-ass skier" to a world-class professional.
While in his teens and attending Lee High School in Lee, MA, Massucco amassed a collection of over forty-five top ten finishes leaving him ranked as one of the most successful Eastern Freestyle skiers in its history and earning him a place on the US Development Team. Continuing with both his education and winning streak, Massucco graduated from high school and attended Champlain College in Vermont where he received his A.S in Accounting while staying active on the competitive circuit.
Though still actively pursuing higher education, in December of 2003 Massucco was pushed to make a decision to whether or not to take his training to the next level. Putting college temporarily aside he threw himself deeper into the competitive world of freestyle, still maintaining his title as the sole skier on the Nor Am Tour competing in two disciplines.
By 2004 Massucco was poised to take on the world. Finishing the season strong with a seventh place finish in aerials at the US National Championships, the bar was raised with the knowledge that US Ski Team selections loomed only months away. After a demanding summer and fall focused entirely on training, Massucco reached his goal. December of 2004 he was the first skier in US freestyle history to podium in both moguls and aerials at the same selections (2nd and 3rd place finishes respectively).
With this huge success Massucco qualified for the US Ski Team in aerials and is in position to shortly qualify for moguls. Currently as a Member of the US Ski Team he has sealed his reputation as a world-class competitor. Pushing the envelope with his 1080's and back full, Massucco's continuous success has made the freestyle world sit up and take notice. Competitors beware; Massucco is coming beat you!
